The Master’s Degree in Event Organisation, Protocol and Institutional Relations (MST for its initials in Spanish), imparted by the Mediterranean Institute for Protocol Studies (IMEP), is an official post-graduate programme oriented to the scientific and professional context which has as its aim to provide the exercise of professionals and researchers in Event Organisation, Protocol and Institutional Relations not only with a corpus but also with competence.
Students will be able to choose the study modality best suited to their needs, distance or face-to-face. Both modalities follow the same syllabus and pursue the same aims, endowing the students with the same competences.
Our theoretical preparation and practical training programmes are oriented towards the development of the skills needed for professionals in Event Organisation, Protocol and Institutional Relations to become value creators in public institutions as well as in private corporations.
Apart from supplying theoretical knowledge for those who choose the professional branch, the MST provides chances for professional practice periods that can complement students’ training in an experiential way, thus enabling them to acquire first-hand knowledge about the competences inherent to their working position.

The following aspects will be taken into account for student admission purposes:
1) Adaptation of the qualification to the Master’s areas of knowledge. It will have a total weight of 30% in the final assessment.

Access and admission requirements will be evaluated by a Student Admission Committee formed by the Head of Studies, the Master’s Management and the Secretary’s Office that will prepare a list of admitted and excluded students, along with a waiting list.
The Syllabus of the Official Master’s Degree in Event Organisation, Protocol and Institutional Relations has a teaching load of 60 credits, distributed into two semesters.
Of those 60 credits, 42 correspond to the first semester, dedicated to learning and studying professional skills and to the most technical subjects associated with Event Organisation, Protocol and Institutional Relations.
In the remaining 18 credits, students can carry out internships in companies or the research practicum, according either to the professional orientation or to the line of research that they select, and the preparation of an End-of-Master’s Project.
The master’s programme consists of 3 modules: Compulsory; Specific; and Deepening
This module contains the advanced social and professional skills for the training of a high-performance team manager, and Event Organiser or a Protocol and Institutional Relations manager in the exercise of their duties. These are essential training contents for students, since that knowledge allows them to competently approach the professional exercise that this Master’s Degree requires. It refers to the compulsory subject called Managerial Skills.
This module contains the specific knowledge associated with the fields of Event Organisation, Protocol and Institutional Relations. It is divided into three subjects with a total of 35.5 credits: Event Organisation; Protocol; and Institutional Relationships, which correspond to the contents of the aforementioned areas of knowledge. These subjects are developed during the first semester.
It gives students the chance to choose a professional orientation for their Master’s, offering them internships in companies, or a research orientation, with the possibility to take a research-based subject. In both cases, students will have to take the subject known as End-of-Master’s Project. The total number of ECTS credit that a student must pass is 18.
The student will give value to the knowledge acquired during the MST through the implementation of a proposal related to Event Organisation, Protocol or an Institutional Relations Programme.
The TFM will be assessed by means of an oral public test after the student has passed at least 75% of the Master’s credits.
The student will be supervised by lecturers of this Master’s Degree, and the project will be defended before an evaluating board that will be determined by the Master’s management. The presentation and defence of the project, along with the fulfilment of the minimum requirements, will be a necessary condition to achieve this qualification.
A wide number of varied topics is offered so that students’ needs can be met. The different research topics or lines offered for students to carry out their TFM will be in keeping with the curricular development selected during the teaching/study period.
The period to reserve a place in this Degree is fixed between January and Juny.
The place reservation payment will only be refunded in the event that a student should prove lack of compliance with the university access requirements, or due to serious personal reasons, in which case the centre will assess the continuity of payments.
Documentation to be submitted: photocopy of valid DNI [(Spanish) National Identity Document] or passport, a certified copy of the academic qualification and the payment slip for place reservation which must be sent by registered postal mail to the Technical Secretary’s Office of IMEP (admisiones@protocoloimep.com).
